0 Bob Woodward talks "The Price of Politics"

Pulitzer-prize winning journalist Bob Woodward of the Washington Post was the guest lecturer for a centennial-sponsored All-Class Lecture on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, where he spoke about the current state of journalism and the upcoming election, as well as fielded questions from students.

He shared anecdotes about the stories that fell through over the years and the shortcomings he has had while reporting.

“You just have to keep digging,” Woodward said in response.

Woodward recently penned a new book, "The Price of Politics," a documented examination of the debt ceiling negotiations between President Obama and congressional leaders that took place last summer. Over 18 months of reporting, he drew from in-depth interviews, memos, meeting notes and emails to amass a day-by-day, at times hour-by-hour, account of what really happened as the federal government was headed towards default

Woodward was also interviewed for our Centennial Video Series, a yearlong multimedia diary encapsulation of life at the J-School for prospective students, alumni and the wider community.
