0 Prof. James Stewart receives Elliot V. Bell Award

Prof. James B. Stewart, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and bestselling author, will receive the 2011 Elliott V. Bell Award Oct. 19 in a ceremony at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. The award, presented by the New York Financial Writers Association, honors an individual’s lifetime contributions to the field of financial journalism.

Stewart is the Bloomberg professor of business journalism, and teaches the business section of the MA program. He is the author of eight books, including recent national bestseller "DisneyWar," an account of Michael Eisner's tumultuous reign at America's best-known entertainment company. He is also the author of national bestsellers "Blind Eye” and "Blood Sport.” “Heart of a Soldier," named the best nonfiction book of 2002 by Time, was recently made into an opera. Stewart currently writes the “Common Sense” column for the Business Day section of The New York Times.
